Zolof the Rock and Roll Destroyer
Jalopy Go Far

I don't really remember how it happened, but somehow I ended up on Zolof's website one day. Once I heard some of their songs, I had to get this CD. It's just simple, fun, catchy powerpop tunes that get stuck in your head, which is definitely one of my favorite genres of music these days.

Favorites: Mean Old Coot, Super OK, Moment
Kitty Kat Dirt Nap
I Am A Robot. I Am Talking Like A Robot. I Am A Robot.

I know it's not a very nice name for a band if you're an animal-lover, but I'm pretty sure it shouldn't be taken too seriously. Another fun, powerpop band with very funny (and somewhat strange) song titles.

Favorites: Adrianne Barbeaubot (With Chainsaw Hands. BZZZZZZ), (Cookie Blocking) Java Scripts, Mini Van Halen (Why Doesn't The Band Drive A Mini Van)
Lassie Foundation/Duraluxe
I Duel Sioux And The Ale Of Saturn

This is a split release with six songs from each band. The Lassie Foundation features former Prayer Chain members Wayne Everett and Eric Campuzano, while the guitar player for Duraluxe was in Hoi Polloi. Both bands draw heavily on early 90's shoegaze influences.

Favorites: You Could Shoot Me Down, Hit So Hard, She Wants A Lucky Strike, The Ones You Trust
